Solo playtesting tercios in Ages of Conflict
about 3 years ago – Sun, Aug 22, 2021 at 11:44:59 PM

Ran a limited playtest of incorporating tercios in AoC. Mostly turned out as expected. One tercio sustained heavy damage due to cannon along with an opposed linear formation. The other tercio faced off only against a linear formation and fared much better.

I'll run another playtest soon with a larger battlefield as well as some cavalry. And maybe try a phalanx instead of a square in the tercio.

Using the pike & shot tercio formation in Ages of Conflict
about 3 years ago – Sun, Aug 15, 2021 at 01:57:00 PM

Hi, All

Quick update! We're still working away with the artwork while also continuing to make some textual improvements with the books. One of the areas we want to address is how to implement a tercio within the Ages of Conflict rules. Below is a brief video of how we'll be addressing the formation.

Let us know if you have any questions or suggestions. Thank you!

New art has arrived!
over 3 years ago – Sun, Jun 27, 2021 at 09:32:04 PM

We received some new art yesterday. Our artist, Miguel Santos, is doing an incredible job and is super easy to work with. We're extremely fortunate to have him on board. Head on over to our Facebook group to see a few samples of the new pieces.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/AgesofConflict

We're also close to wrapping up our initial round of inputting point values. We just need to perform validation afterward, and we'll then release a new pre-release PDF.

Thank you!

Update!
over 3 years ago – Tue, Jun 08, 2021 at 12:46:25 PM

Hi, All. It's been a while since we've done an update, so I wanted to let you all know where things stand.

1. We've received a batch of sketches from our artist, which were approved, so we should soon see new artwork. I'll post a few samples when we receive them.

2. We've added a good bit of optional rules, mostly driven by suggestions from the community, so please keep those coming! We do listen.

3. We've begun adding points to the army lists. This will take a good while as we've basically three quality checks per army list to ensure the calculations are correct and entered into the book correctly.

And finally a question. We're using a formula to drive all point costs. This is fairly straightforward, though we're running into a question as to how to deal with cannons in that they have the ability to fire two different loads (ball and canister). The question is how to account for the ability to fire both of these loads, though also keeping in mind they will not be used simultaneously, and perhaps one may not be used at all given the situation.

1. Do we charge for both regardless?

2. Do we charge only for the most expensive load?

3. Do we take an average point cost of the two loads?

4. Any other thoughts?
